During this session participants will learn how to design a sequential online or blended course for the English language arts. There will be an emphasis on the use of the Schoology LMS but aspects of course design are transferrable to any LMS platform. Course creation will focus on the creation of learning units or modules, use of introductory activities for each lesson, creating a collegial, interactive class environment, effective pacing, clear and effective assessments, and specific strategies related to formative assessment. Embedding audio, video, and outside links and resources will also be discussed with an emphasis on practical information that students will actually use.
